APS is no longer bird crazy but still buzzing like bees. We have some exciting events coming up and have just finished others. The teachers are still working diligently to help children to maximize learning. Please take the time to thank your child's teacher. Our APS faculty and staff truly love students and work hard to do what is best for them five days a week plus many weekends.
The Night(s) of the Arts was a great hit. Tracey Rogers and Ramona Hall do an outstanding job and spent many hours in preparation for the two nights. The children performed well and put on a great performance. I am not going to list all who helped in fear of leaving someone out, but all involved did a great job. Ms. Hall is truly buzzing like a humming bird all the time. Her student art work makes this large facility a beautiful school. I truly miss the displays during the summer months. Great job!
Our annual Courage Carnival is coming up as we team up to fight cancer. I am one of the chosen few in the dunking booth this year. I am looking forward to making the students happy but I would be lying if I told you getting dunked is fun. I look forward to Friday and having a great event. Misty Brothers has put a great amount of preparation in helping this event raise money to fight cancer. Thanks to everyone who is helping out.
I would like to say thank you to teachers/staff for making APS a great place to work. We often get bogged down with the responsibility that comes with being in education. It encourages me to know that our job has meaning. Our life's work has an impact for years to come. You make a difference everyday. The kids that you teach reading and math will use those skills for the rest of their life. Take heart in knowing that you don't have to worry if your job makes a difference. You know this because that is why you wanted to be a teacher.
